The place of many first dates and post gym meals is a high street phenomenon, but how hot is Nando’s as a business Model?

The restaurant chain is now owned by Billionaire Patrick Enthoven who’s thought to have invested $86K in the company when it was first founded by Robert Brozin & Fernando Duarte. They first opened their doors to the UK in 1992 – Ealing West London. In 2019 the company had 422 branches across the UK and achieved revenues of £779.4million with pre tax profits of £96million.

Unlike competitor restaurants such as McDonalds and KFC, Nando’s do not offer franchises in the UK & Ireland and currently don’t have any plans to offer these in the future. That said you can buy a Nando’s Franchise in South Africa for 7 million Rand which at the time of writing equates to around £300K.
